Moviment Graffitti is a movement which voices itself through direct action. This movement is active against all kinds of oppression and exploitation o people, the environment and animals; with a freedom and radical democracy vision.
Moviment Graffitti’s actions are very often on current affairs (local/international). Amongst which there are the recent activities like the ‘Save Kalkara Valley’ campaign, the ‘No to Warships’ campaign where the organization always builds stronger alliances with other organizations. International campaigns vary; Moviment Graffitti was present in Genoa 2001 during the G8 meeting to put forword its counter proposal – “Globalisation of rights as opposed to a Globalisation of oppression and poverty for the many and huge riches for the few.” Amongst other activities and political alliances, Moviment Graffitti forms part of the Anti-Golf Course Front, while before it formed a part of the Front Against the Hilton.
Other actions by this movement are it’s annual participation in the World Anti-McDonald’s Day. This is a global action which represents the fight against multinationals and capitalism. Moviment Graffitti is determined to keep on fighting the economic globalisation imposed by the WTO (World Trade Organisation).
During 2002, Moviment Graffitti has taken part of several activities, amongst which the ‘Freedom Day Protest’ against warships in Malta, and the ‘Camping in Kalkara Valley’ to raise awareness about its destruction by the proposed mega-project.
Moviment Graffitti practices radical democracy, where everymember has an equal voice and power.
