Career: Marketing and Management Consultant. Chief Executive Officer of M & E Management Group with offices in Malta, London and Dublin. Was very active in the good old student days: President, National Students' Union of Malta (1985-90), President, Students' Representative Council (1985-6), Secretary, Progressive Students' Union (1986-1988). Elected Official of Federation of Maltese Youth Movements (1986-1990) and represented Malta in various youth and student delegations.
Political activist: Assistant General Secretary, Malta Labour Party (1989 - 1991), Assistant Education Secretary, Malta Labour Party (1993-95), President, Young Socialists (1988-90), Secretary, Labour Party Youth Commission (1993-94). Parliamentary Candidate on 4th Electoral District in 1996 and 1998 elections, finishing with 1705 and 1400 votes respectively.
Specialised his studies and career in marketing and management. Diploma in Marketing (Cambridge), MBA and DBA (USA) with majors in communications and marketing, Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (UK), Member of the Institute of Commercial Management (UK) and the Institute of Training and Development (UK), Malta Marketing Institute and the Malta Institute of Management. Appointed, 1998, as CEO - Mediterranean Region of Transworld Management Group.
Revolutionised marketing in the Maltese entertainment scene. Was the major force in putting Malta in the international cultural circuit and staged the majority of top international artists' concerts in Malta, including Leo Sayer, Aswad, Sinitta, Amii Stewart, Haddaway, Tremolos, Girlschool, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Fish, Deep Purple, Bonnie Tyler, The official UK Eagles Tribute Band, Status Quo, Demis Roussos, Alannah Myles, Spicey Girls, Saxon, etc.
Manages top Maltese artists and promotes them abroad with European and international tours and representation. Chiara, Malta's greatest to-date Eurovision contender, is managed by one of Ellul's companies.
As an established international marketeer, Massimo Ellul has consulted a number of international firms, especially in the United Kingdom, and in 1999 opened a partner office in Edinburgh. He was appointed honorary life member of The Friends of Rosslyn Society for his invaluable aid in marketing. He was also invested as a Commander of the Knights of the Order of St. Lazarus and his biography features in the 19th edition of the prestigious international publication "Who's Who", published by Marquis, USA.
