Dr. Giovanni Felice - ( was born in Sliema on January 21, 1899. Dr. Felice was married to Marthese nee Dacoutros in 1925. He completed his education at the Lyceum Secondary School and the Royal University of malta from where he graduated for Doctor of Law on October 4, 1922. He then continued his studies in Criminology and International Law at Rome University. He practised his profession for a number of years during which he served as examiner in International Law at the Royal University of Malta. Dr. Felice was also President of the "Guild of Graduates" and the Sliema Band Club between 1951 and 1954.
On December 1953 Dr. felice entered politics under the banner of the nationalist party where he served as a member of the Opposition . In january 1954 following another election he was appointed Minister of Justice. During the years that followed till his retirement in 1971 he was also Minister for Industrial Development and Turism as well as Minister of Finance, Customs and Port. He served also for a time as Acting Prime Minister.
Dr. felice formed part of the Maltese delegation at the "Round Table Conference" during September 1955 and was ever present for the crutial talks on Malta's independence with the British Government at Marborough House in London and other Conferences, which eventually led to Malta attaining independece on September 21, 1964.
Dr. Felice died on March 16,1977. he was survived by his children Grace, Mario, Anton and Alfred.)
