The Surname of Galea Testaferrata cames from the elder line of the Baronial family of Galea Feriol, whom still obtains the primogenture of barony.
The name came about from the marriage of the Baroncino Nicola Galea Feriol in 1876 to Camilla dei Marchesi Testaferrata Olivier. Upon the death of the 7th Baron di San Marciano, the title went to Nicola's sister instead.
