The Imbroll family has a prominent place in Maltese and European history.
The Imbrolls originally came from Catalonia, a province in northeastern
Spain in 1282. To my knowledge, the most prominent member was Monsignor
Salvatore Imbroll, who was instrumental in the battle against the Turks in
1565. He is buried in front of the main altar at St.John's Co-Cathedral.
