White used in Black and White depictions of Coats of Arms actually represents Silver, so that in colour depictions Silver and not White should be used. Unfortunately this is rarely done for the Mifsud Coat of Arms.
The palm at the top in the 'Gummar', a Maltese Native plant. The Palm leaves at the bottom are of The Date Palm, which has been cultivated in Malta since Phoenician times. The Maltese cross was adapted by the Knights of the order of St John, while in Malta, but there are theories of its use here in Malta since before thir arrival.
