| History of Strickland Bologna: |
The family of Strickland Bologna came into existence from the marriage of the Noble Luisa Bonici Mompalao and Commander Walter Strickland. Luisa was heiress of her uncle inheritance (Counts of Catena, the Bologna estates).
The elder son, Lord Strickland had only surviving daughters to whom succeeded the title of Count of Catena, though Luisa younger son, Charles Strickland Bologna (c 1867-, whom married Ella Naudi. Their descendants carry the surname of Strickland Bologna.
One famed Strickland Bologna whom married into the Maltese Nobility is Lara Strickland Bologna dei Conti di Catena, whom married to Julian Bugeja Viani dei Baroni di Tabria, (Brother of the present Baron of Tabria).
